After I helped the elderly couple pack today I ran home for a quick dinner and then back for hanging out and chatting. One of the puzzle ladies brought me some cookies, and another one kept asking me "Are you sure you don't want one?"
They all know that I can't eat the flour, sugar, chocolate chips or gumdrops. (Yes gumdrops. You have no idea the sheer amount of willpower it took not to eat them.) They know that eating one cookie will put me in bed for at least 24 hours. But they are also elderly, and darn it you don't not offer food.
Either that, of it is payback for the time I took them out to dinner and bought them dessert. The diabetic was too nice to refuse and her sugar shot up to 9 bazillion.
Lesson learned.

Maybe because the diabetic thinks you are trying to kill her!
